Changing Times at the Courts

In these changing times we continue to offer our clients the best possible support through our investment in technology.

When coronavirus happened, everything changed and that particularly applied to court hearings. With the lockdown in place, hearings in the Family and Civil Courts could not take place in person so a different way had to be found to deal with them. That way was remotely, either by telephone or video such as Skype.

Initially it was strange having a hearing over the telephone but gradually everyone adapted and it proved to be a success ensuring justice took place but it was safe for all.

Now as lockdown eases, this situation is changing again. The courts are now looking at hybrid hearings. Hybrid hearings involve a telephone or video link whenever possible, but where it is felt appropriate part of the hearing will take place once again in person.

At Mason Baggott and Garton we have continued to adapt with the changing times. Throughout the pandemic our offices have remained open and whilst we cannot see clients in person we embrace our investment in technology and, following the courts, use both video and telephone conferencing to give our clients the best possible service.

We have assisted many of our clients during the lockdown and have dealt with numerous hearings on their behalf. We continue to both guide and support our clients through the legal process, explaining how it works and then speaking on their behalf during the court hearing itself.
