Buying a house is probably the largest investment anyone will make in their lives but sometimes
things go wrong and you are no longer able to keep up the repayments on your home.
Our initial advice would always be to contact your mortgage lender immediately and advise them
of the situation. They are always more inclined to listen and help if you go to them prior to getting
into substantial arrears. However, if no agreement can be reached and the repayments are not
made the mortgage will most likely go to the courts to obtain an order for possession of the
property with a view to selling it.
If you do find yourself in this position, don’t worry, come and see us and we will endeavor to do all
we can to advise you as to the best course of action taking into consideration your
circumstances. Acting immediately may save your home.
Ignoring a situation like this will inevitably lose you your home, getting advice from Mason Baggott
& Garton Solicitors and taking advantage of our initial free consultation may save it.
