The original firm from which Mason, Baggott & Garton was established in Brigg, pre 1870 as Goy, Cross & Co., and in Scunthorpe as Norman Gibson in 1919. The firm became known as Mason & Baggott in, or around, 1955, with the Epworth office opening in, or around 1970. The firm subsequently became known under its present title as Mason, Baggott & Garton in 1975.
The firm covers most areas of work associated with general practitioners, with the main emphasis on conveyancing, family matters, wills and probates, crime and more latterly employment law and company and commercial work with particular emphasis on commercial leasing, land sales and purchases and business sales and purchases.
The partners are very much aware of the areas of priority need which are set by the Regional Legal Services Committee and the need to ensure that there is adequate staff cover within the firm for these areas of work.
The partners of the firm are Sir John Peter Mason, Rex Garton, Emma Jane Johns,
Richard Mason and Sarah Regan.
